why is it so hard
to let the past go?
just let the tears flow
and with them
the fears of past years
and yesterday's pain
hold on
and you
ache a little every day
letting go
will burn like your soul's
on fire
but then
you'll never feel that again
my first poem of the new year...
watch the clock turn 11:59
to midnight
and its still night
but also a new day
new month
new year
and
(supposedly)
a new way
of living
time to live
up to those resolutions
those hindsight solutions
to problems of the past
which catch up to the future
time to end
the excuses
render trying useless
and actually do
face the (factually) few
obstacles hindering success
because today's good
can always better
yesterday's best
What's the point
Why am I doing this? What is this page all about? Plain and simple, this is an outlet for self-expression...I feel like writing, but I'm tired of making all these random text files on my computer. With that said, the content of this blog is ME up-close and personal, in your face. I'll be writing poems, songs, short stories, vent-sessions, whatever I feel like at the moment . If you like it, that's cool; if not, well that's cool too. I'm just trying not to bottle up this creative potential inside of me.
As for the name, "Empirically Lyrical," i kind of named it that just because it sounds good and it makes you think....my main point is that these poems and random writing are based on my observations and the way I feel about life. Anyway, so read on and maybe you'll get a glimpse of what I'm trying to say
