Guitar Prowess in Infancy

You know that awkward stage when you're first starting to learn something new? the stage when everything is off, you have no idea what you're doing, and that "hey, that looks cool lemme try that" feeling wears off? Well, I've been in that stage for almost four years while "learning" how to play the guitar. Somehow I'm always too busy to practice...Today is different, though. Today I make a commitment to get my India.Arie and Lauryn Hill on if it kills me. All this great music (hahaha) is making me feel poetic.

Guitar Prowess in Infancy

with resolve
like a child
taking first steps
(with my second finger)
I press,
first string
third fret

begin a chord
so simple
a G
until it comes
naturally
(hopefully)

What's the point

Why am I doing this? What is this page all about? Plain and simple, this is an outlet for self-expression...I feel like writing, but I'm tired of making all these random text files on my computer. With that said, the content of this blog is ME up-close and personal, in your face. I'll be writing poems, songs, short stories, vent-sessions, whatever I feel like at the moment . If you like it, that's cool; if not, well that's cool too. I'm just trying not to bottle up this creative potential inside of me.

As for the name, "Empirically Lyrical," i kind of named it that just because it sounds good and it makes you think....my main point is that these poems and random writing are based on my observations and the way I feel about life. Anyway, so read on and maybe you'll get a glimpse of what I'm trying to say
